PRESIDENT BUHARI APPOINTS MAJ. GEN. FAROUK YAHAYA AS THE NEW CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF

General Ibrahim Attahiru passed away with other 10 people onboard as a result of the Kaduna plane crash last Friday evening, the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Major General Farouk Yahaya to replace him as the new Chief of Army Staff.
Major General Farouk Yahaya, prior to his appointment, was the Theatre Commander of the Counter Terrorism and Insurgency military outfit in the North East code named Operation HADIN KAI. General Yahaya was also the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army.
